The Vendys 2017 at Mission Inn Resort

What is The Vendys?

I had the pleasure of planning The Vendor’s Choice Awards AKA The Vendys for Perfect Wedding Guide this past November. Perfect Wedding Guide is an online and print source for all of your wedding planning needs! PWG provides online tools to keep you organized and host several wedding shows throughout the year. Every year, they host an awards event that honors the top wedding vendors in Central Florida. This year, it was held at Mission Inn Resort and the theme was quirky golf!

Vendy Inspiration:

The Vendys was named “The Golf Ball.” Guests were encouraged to dress in golf attire whether formal, funky, quirky, vintage or golf-inspired. Everyone dressed the part and looked fabulous!

Cocktail hour was held in Plaza de la Fontana. FyerFly Productions provided market lighting which hung over the plaza lit the sky as the sun set. Premier Piano Shows provided dueling pianos and kept everyone entertained while they sipped on their John Daily signature drinks.

The awards ceremony for The Vendys was held in the Grand Ballroom. Guests were greeted by two golf carts at the entrance. One was decorated in tacky Christmas decor and the other was inspired by a “Just Married” getaway car with cans trailing behind it. They were both great photo opportunities for guests. Once inside, everyone was able to snap a picture in front of giant hedge walls before entering the ballroom. A Chair Affair provided beautiful vintage lounge furniture for guests to sit back and relax in and Letz Dance on It provided an awesome white LED dance floor for guests to dance on! (I know I took advantage of it). There was a pretzel wall (hand made with love by myself and TwoPeas Designs), pulled pork stations and mini sandwich stations. Oh and an amazing dessert station with all sorts of treats created by Cut the Cake! Yum!

The Vendy Winners:

After a bit of dancing, the awards were given out. Congrats to all of the winners; you deserved it! Lily’s Bridal, Bride Spa, Cut the Cake (they won twice!), Arthur’s Catering, Mission Inn Resort, Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals (they won twice!), The Flower Studio, Red Parrot Travel, Our DJ Rocks, Sensational Ceremonies, Victoria Angela Photography, Designer Weddings by Carly Rose, Citrus Club Luncheon, White Rose Entertainment and Steven Miller of Steven Miller Photography.

After the awards ceremony, all of the winners went up stairs to the winners room where they enjoyed a special dessert and a glass of champagne. They were able to take a photo by our golf-inspired winner’s board too! For those guests who wanted to continue the party, an after party was hosted in Plaza de las Palmas. Guests left with a pair of argyle socks as a memory of the big event.
