We had the pleasure of working with Monica and Rodolfo to coordinate their big day this August. They chose the Lake Mary Events Center to host their wedding and it was the perfect location to say “I do!” We love the Lake Mary Events Center; it is perfectly designed for weddings and the grounds are so beautiful!
Monica and Rodolfo chose to do a first look before the ceremony. As you know by now, we absolutely love first looks! The first look was captured outside beneath the shade of the beautiful pergola. Afterwards, we knocked out bridal party portraits and a few family shots! Advice time: if you have time to do this on your wedding day…DO IT! It saves you so much time after the ceremony and allows you to relax a little bit and not feel rushed during your formal portraits.
The ceremony was held in the Rotunda, overlooking West Crystal Lake, with floor to ceiling windows that let lots of natural light in. It gives you that sense of getting married outside, but you’re inside (in the lovely air conditioning). Monica kept the ceremony decor simple. She had The Flower Studio create two alter arrangements which sat upon white columns. After the ceremony, we transferred them inside the ballroom and flanked the stage with them. They incorporated several readings, a lasso ceremony and a love-lock ceremony into their wedding which was officiated by their dear friend, Darrel Stern. It was such a beautiful ceremony, full of love and emotion!
While guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the foyer, the newlyweds continued formal portraits outside around the beautiful grounds. The reception took place in the Grand Ballroom and we must say, we love the layout of this space. A nice-sized stage sits at the front of the room with a permanent wooden dance floor right in front of it. The stage is a great spot to put your sweetheart table and your cake! One side of the ballroom is lined with windows, overlooking the lake, which makes for beautiful pictures. They chose round tables for their guests, which were dressed with ivory linen and navy napkins and topped each table with a simple calla lily centerpiece that was created by Monica. The simplicity of the decor was brought to life by amber uplighting provided by Our DJ Rocks. The uplighting brought out the orange tones of the calla lilies and pulled it all together.
After the wedding party was introduced, the newlyweds shared their first dance and then Monica had a special dance with her father and Rodolfo shared a special dance with his mother. Following the formal dances, River City Catering provided a delicious buffet dinner with all the key Spanish-inspired fixings! Arroz con Gandules, Platoons Maduro, Pernil, Pollo Asado were just a few of the delicious items guests got to enjoy. (side note: #bestvendormealever – soooo yummy!!) After dinner, we snuck the newlyweds back outside for some sunset pictures and then returned inside for toasts, cake cutting and dancing! The night ended with a sparkler exit, surrounded by their family and friends.
It was a pleasure working with Monica and Rodolfo. They are absolutely perfect for each other and we wish them nothing but the best!
