I met Diva and Kenny for the first time while still working at Mission Inn. We clicked immediately and things just took off from there! I was sad when I left my position at Mission Inn because I wasn’t going to be able to be a part of their big day any more. But… as fate had it, Diva reached out to me sometime afterwards and asked if I would be her wedding coordinator! Of course I would! (DUH). I was so excited that I was still able to be a part of their day after all was said and done.
I met up with Diva to review all of their details and fill in the blanks from where we had left off months prior at Mission Inn. It was so good to see her again and catch up! She was so excited to be marring the man of her dreams and was having a blast planning their big day! I was able to sit in with Diva and Kenny at their tasting and it was so nice to see Kenny again (the boys always show up for food – haha)! We knocked out most of the details then and were able to do a walk through of all the spaces again and envision how it would be on their wedding day. We had a blast with Amy and the Mission Inn team that day!
Jump to the big day…the weather was perfect. The skies were blue. Diva was so ecstatic that the day was finally here. She was smiling from ear to ear all day long while rocking some awesome red lips (she can pull off red lips like no one else), which was such a wonderful thing to see. Kenny was very relaxed on wedding day; he spent the day with his guys at the pool, enjoying the day and soaking up some last minute sun. A true Florida boy he was. Every time I went to check on either of them, they were so relaxed, yet so dang excited that the day had finally come after about two years of planning!
Diva and Kenny opted to do a first look before the ceremony. I must say, first looks are one of my favorite things! If you are on the edge about doing one…do yourself a favor and just do it. You will not be disappointed! Not only does it help to knock out some of those wedding-day jitters, it allows for for you to take some time and relax while you take some adorable pictures with your sweet pea. It also allows you to stretch your cocktail hour (AKA – the one hour you have to do pictures before the reception begins) to it’s fullest.
The ceremony was beautiful. Oh-so personal and just lovely! My eyes may or may not have teared up during their vows. After these two said “I do” they were carried off on Mission Inn’s limo of a golf cart to so some formal portraits around their beautiful property. Gosh dang; those pictures turned out so beautiful! The sun was at the perfect spot in the sky.
After cocktail hour/formal portrait session, guests were escorted into La Hacienda for the reception. Diva and Kenny took a simple, yet elegant approach to their decor for the reception. The tables were draped with white linen, a black lantern with a little bit of greenery at the base took it’s spot in the center and a pretty table number in a gold frame stood alongside it. Gold chargers and s’mores favors completed the look. Le Petit Sweet of Mount Dora created a beautiful cake for the couple. White buttercream with pink floral and greenery accents atop a gold stand made for a stunning focal point. Our DJ Rocks used amber up-lighting to make the fire place shine in all it’s glory and we re-used the bridesmaid’s bouquets around the fireplace for a little bit of class and color. The newlyweds enjoyed their evening surrounded by their family and friends. They dined off a delicious buffet, were lifted up in chairs during the Hava Nagila and danced the night away to a sweet mix of music by Kristin. It was such a wonderful day and it is one I will remember forever. Diva and Kenny, you were an absolute pleasure to work with and I wish you all the best!! From the bride…“Katie was the MOST AMAZING Day-Of-Coordinator/Wedding Planner to work with! She is so easy to get along with and instantly becomes a close buddy of yours! She is so organized and professional, she knows exactly what she is doing. She created this amazing timeline for my wedding of how the wedding should play out, and it was so helpful, and by the end of the night, I knew we accomplished everything we planned. She is also extremely responsive to calls, texts, and emails. She will answer any concern of your’s and even help you brainstorm ideas. She will give you tips on other vendors to hire, as well, and I highly recommend her to any one on the fence of hiring a Day-of-Coordinator or is still searching for the right one. Look no further, it’s Katie and it’s not even close!”
