This summer Embrace by Kara and Big Day Celebrations teamed up on a styled pontoon engagement session giveaway. The winners were Chelsea and Brett and they were chosen because we fell in love with their love story.
“Our engagement happened on Father’s Day weekend. We planned a trip to Atlanta to go see the braves play in the new stadium. (Him and his father are braves fans) my parents, sister, and family friends met us there. We walked around exploring before the game started.
Right before we walked in my sister wanted to stop for one last picture. After our picture, Brett said he wanted to take another one. This was weird for him because he isn’t a fan of taking too many pictures. As soon as my sister took the picture, Brett turned and got down on one knee. Holding a baseball with a ring inside, he asked me to marry him. It was the most perfect moment and weekend. I know his dad was so proud of him and looking over us. We are over joyed to start this new journey and are truly blessed to have wonderful people in our lives.”
Chelsea and Brett will be saying “I do” on June 30, 2018 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Their big day will be hosted in Plaza de la Fontana with the reception following in the Grand Ballroom. Marina del Rey was chosen as the spot for their engagement session. Located on Lake Harris, the marina is full of boardwalks, tree-lined lake front and a marina filled with all sorts of boats! With the marina in mind, “Picnic on a Pontoon” was formed and it became the theme for the shoot!
The colors navy, red and gold were a symbol of the Braves, which paired perfectly with the nautical theme. She had a blast shopping for fun accent pieces and yummy treats to pull everything together! Colorful pillows, nautical decor, a handmade banner and a charcuterie board all came together wonderfully for the perfect floating picnic.
Jasmine Doublette Hair and Makeup pampered Chelsea that afternoon and got her all dolled up for the shoot. Andie with The Flower Studio created a beautiful flower hair piece for Chelsea to wear. She also made floral arrangements to make the pontoon boat pop with color. Before the picnic began, Kara did a mini session on the boardwalks with the beautiful trees and greenery surrounding them. The lighting was perfect! They even did a little reenactment of their engagement with the ball Brett used to hide the ring. After a quick outfit change, the picnic began just as the sun started to set. It was such a perfect evening with such a sweet couple!
We are so happy to have had the chance to spend the afternoon with Chelsea and Brett during their pontoon engagement session. They are the sweetest couple and are so excited to be spending the rest of their lives together!
