Y’all, Heather and Will’s riverside estate wedding was one for the books! Here is a little backstory:
I met Heather and her friend Lyvia at the “I Dos and Brews” wedding showcase at Dubsdread last year. I loved chatting with the two of them! We had the honor of coordinating both of their weddings! First up was Heather’s big day. (Lyvia’s is actually this week!) I met with her and her mom at Starbucks to discuss the vision and talk details. When Heather showed me a picture of the house where everything would take place, my jaw dropped. It was a gorgeous riverside estate and the grounds were simply beautiful!
On wedding day, Joe and I arrived early. It’s different setting up on a front lawn compared to a ballroom, which is more confined. Everyone was hanging out, there was a lovely breeze coming off the river and the day was just beautiful! Everyone was walking around the estate, finishing up little details It was fantastic and everyone was so laid back!
The rentals got set up exactly how they wanted and once that was done, we were able to kick our shoes off and enjoy the afternoon for a bit. There was a bit of a lull in the day from when rentals arrived to when the other vendors started to arrive, but it didn’t matter because it was so nice being able to just sit on the porch of the estate and watch the dolphins swim in the river! Will’s family was so welcoming and let us make ourselves at home. It was so sweet and we were thankful!
The girls got ready in the guest house. It was so beautiful and I could have lived in there. It was just perfect on so many levels and was such a great space for Heather to get her hair and makeup done! Shortly after that, the rest of their vendor team started to arrive and we kicked it into high gear! Everything came together beautifully! Heather’s mom was super helpful and along with her friends helped up put out all of the greenery on the barrels and tables. Both families were very hands-on and were glad to help however they could. It was so nice of them!
My goodness, the ceremony was beautiful! Will and his family built a gorgeous arch and they stood on a beautiful antique carpet. The ceremony was led by Heather’s Uncle Dan and it was so special! I just love it when close friends or family members get the honor to perform ceremonies.
After they said “I do” guests made their way up to the estate house where cocktail hour took place. They had barrels as their cocktail tables, corn hole and my favorite part, oysters!! Also at the showcase last year was Oyster Bob! Heather knew that Will would LOVE having fresh oysters at the wedding, so it was a special gift from her to him! And boy did he love it as did their guests. It was such a fun part of their cocktail hour; very interactive and so unique!
The front lawn was the perfect spot for the reception. Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet and danced the night away! Once it got dark, the market lights which Will and his buds strung all throughout the property glowed and it was just gorgeous! Their vision came to life oh-so perfectly and I’m so happy that I was able to be a part of it all!
Heather and Will, it was an absolute pleasure working with you guys to plan your riverside estate wedding. Thank you so much for letting Joe and I be a part of your big day!!
“My husband and I couldn’t have better things to say about working with Katie and her husband. Although we only hired Katie for day of coordinator she went above and beyond our expectations. She constantly made herself available through out the planning process and was a constant source of resources and helpful tips. On our wedding day I knew I had nothing to worry about. Katie and her husband, Joe, were on top of every detail. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding coordinator and we are so grateful that we picked Big Day Celebrations to guide us through such an important day.”
