Anne and Mike’s Noah’s Event Venue wedding was nothing short of perfect. Annunciation Catholic Church was the perfect setting for their ceremony. Their navy, gold and blush wedding reception afterwards went off without a hitch and it was the best feeling in the world to see Anne’s reaction when they did the room reveal. Their wedding cake was so cool too! Sugar Sugar did an amazing job on it. It was all wedding in the front and then Star Wars in the back! We came up with the idea of putting a mirror behind it so guests could see both sides. It was such a fun design! Cake, ice cream and coffee were enjoyed by everyone out on the terrace after dinner and it was such a beautiful night!
Everyone had an amazing time dancing and hanging out. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight when Anne danced with her brother in honor of her dad. She did an amazing job with the slideshow that played during the dance. It was such a special moment! The night ended with a sparkler exit and the newlyweds lived happily ever after!
“Fifteen years ago while we were still going to UCF, Mike and I met. We both worked at the UCF Arena (Now the CFE Arena). I started the fall of 2002 and Mike had already been working there for about a year or so. We hung out with the same friends from the Arena, so we started to get to know each other. After 6 months of working there, I developed a big crush on him. 6 months after that, he asked me on a date! I was so excited! 🙂
On our first date, he made me dinner at his place. It was spaghetti and meatballs. We ate a lovely dinner and then watched Something About Mary while cuddling on his couch. That night we shared our first kiss when he walked me to my car. From there, we started dating. That was July 6th, 2003. We were in a relationship for 6 years and then for various reasons, broke up. During this time apart, we remained friends and still hung out in the same friend circles. He was also very supportive during the time that my dad was sick and passed away.
Almost 4 years ago, at the beginning of 2015, we started talking more one-on-one and had the conversation about starting a relationship again. We started dating again on New Years Day and it was a brand new beginning for us. It has been amazing ever since. I say all the time that it has always been him.
Mike proposed to me this year on March 13th. The significance of that date is that it was my father’s birthday. My dad passed away five years ago. I am always a bit sad on my dad’s birthday since he is no longer here to celebrate. Mike wanted to propose specifically on that day so I will always have a reason to be happy and so that my dad could be a part of it in some way. I came home from work that day to Mike cooking a very nice meal. He made risotto, stuffed bell peppers and vegetables. He had flowers on the table and a candle lit. I didn’t think too much of it as i thought he was doing it all to cheer me up.
After dinner, Mike asked if I wanted dessert. Having thought he had gotten my favorite treat from Jeremiah’s, since we typically don’t eat dessert, I didn’t suspect a thing. Instead, he got up from the table and came to my side of the table. I asked him what he was doing. He then kissed me, got down on one knee, told me that he loved me and that he wanted to marry me. He asked the big question and he took out the ring. I immediately jumped up with excitement and gave him a huge hug and said YES Of course!
It was a fantastic evening with just the two of us. It is exactly what I wanted. We spent the rest of the evening calling family and friends and letting them know the good news. 🙂 I’m looking forward to celebrating with all of our family and friends and really enjoying all aspects of the day with Mike with as little stress possible. I also want everyone to have a great time.
I am looking forward to seeing our Noah’s Event Venue wedding vision come to life….can’t wait for the “room reveal” and dancing on the dance floor! The brother/sister dance is something I’m also looking forward to, as we are dancing to “The Best Day” by Taylor Swift. That song is sort of a tribute to my dad as I had the best days with him. Mike and I will also be sharing a last dance at the end of the evening that I’m looking forward to! So many things I’m looking forward to!”
“First, if you’re wondering if you need a day-of wedding coordinator, trust me you do! Secondly, Katie is your person! I knew she would be amazing after our first phone conversation where she thoroughly answered all my questions. I hung up the phone feeling a sense of relief and full of excitement. Although we purchased the “day-of coordinator” package, Katie was available to answer all my questions or give me feedback via e-mail or phone during our whole wedding planning process.
She helped me with my day-of timeline, she gave me suggestions for vendors, and she gave me some ideas when I wasn’t sure about some element of the planning process. It was like having a super-knowledgeable and supportive friend there whenever I needed. She was SUPER responsive, sometimes getting back to my e-mails within minutes. It was amazing! Katie also jumps in 6 weeks leading up to the wedding to handle all vendor communication, timelines, payment, etc. During this time, I was going on my bachelorette party, having my bridal shower, and handling all the final details leading up to the wedding like guest lists, table assignments, and dress fittings.
It was so great to have Katie there to assist with the vendor management and make sure nothing was missed. In our meeting before the wedding, Katie took the time to be at our venue walk-through, listen to my concerns, come up with solutions, and reassure me. I truly felt heard and at no time, even after asking another question “just to be sure”, did I feel like I was being annoying or overly specific. She was an absolute JOY! On the wedding day, the reception was set up just as I had pictured. Every last detail was handled as though it was magic. I had a special video that I wanted played as tribute to my dad during the brother/sister dance and Katie worked with the vendor to make sure it was set up and played just right.
Katie is organized, detail-oriented, and above all a positive and fun person to have by your side on your wedding day! Oh, and at the end of the evening, everything was packed away neatly in our boxes (even better we had brought them). Look no further, Katie and her husband with Big Day Celebrations are your people!”
