Fun fact! Wendy and I went to college together at UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality. We endured countless class projects together during our time there, so when she asked me to be her day-of coordinator for her wedding at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market, of course I said yes! It was going to be like a real-life college project! (Well sorta, I mean I do this every weekend, but it was so much fun working with her and Joey and seeing all of their hard work come together!!) 🙂
Wendy and Joey held their wedding at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market on a beautiful November day and everything couldn’t have turned out more perfect. The day started at this adorable Airbnb nestled in Winter Park, where the gals met for hair and makeup. When I arrived to check on them, everything was on schedule and they were sitting back, relaxing and enjoying each others company. After checking on them, we headed to the Farmers’ Market to start setting up. Wendy chose to do her own centerpieces to keep things simple. She provided us with vases filled with lots of greenery, which tied in perfectly with the existing brown chairs and made the green napkins and silver chargers provided by the caterer “pop.” I love it when couples choose to use what their venue provides and match their color scheme with it. It all comes together so beautifully! In addition to the centerpieces, she provided fun socks for guests do dance the night away in, coffee beans for them to take home and wine corks for them to sign as a memory of their wedding day.
Before the ceremony began, Wendy and Joey did a first look in the rose garden on Park Ave. I don’t have to remind you again how I feel about first looks…(I LOVE THEM!). Because Jessica Leigh Photography is so dang speedy, they were able to get so many beautiful photos captured before the ceremony even started. This included ones with their wedding party as well! After the picture session, the wedding party did a quick shot for some liquid courage and then the ceremony began. It was such a beautiful ceremony, led by Catherine Pick and before you knew it they were husband and wife!
Afterwards, guests enjoyed cocktail hour, while our newlyweds took some family photos along with a few “yay, we’re married” photos behind the Farmers’ Market. Afterwards, they got to enjoy cocktail hour and then it was time to party! After the introductions and first dance. guests enjoyed a taco bar (yes, a TACO BAR!!!) with all of the fixings including adorable little bags of tortilla chips, guac, watermelon salad, more yummy toppings and they even got their own little taco holder. I mean, they were delicious and Art of Taste Orlando nailed it! The food was on point and their setup was beautiful! After dinner, toasts were given, Wendy and Joey danced with their parents and then the dance floor opened up!
After guests danced for a bit, the dessert station opened up and our newlyweds cut the cake! They had everything from mini churros to cookies, to cake pops and mini cheese cakes. I do have to say, Fig and Flour nailed it and not only was the cake delicious (I always eat a piece of cake!) but the oatmeal cookies were magical. #givemeallthecookies
After getting a sugar high from all of the delicious treats, more dancing happened and guests also enjoyed the photobooth. The night ended with a sparkler exit and our new Mr. and Mrs. were whisked away in a pimped out Jeep! It was marvelous!
We are so happy for Wendy and Joey! They were such a pleasure to work with and are so perfect for each other! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Gilman!

Katie’s favorite wedding details / moments: The first look was one of my favorite moments and the dessert display was to die for! I loved how Wendy utilized everything the Winter Park Farmers’ Market provided and made it mesh with her color scheme.
