Wildflowers.
Huckleberry.
Your best people.
What more could you want from your wedding day?! These elements best sum up Leah and Ben’s wildflower wedding in just a few words. Their big day positively burst with colorful blooms set against a background of Glacier mountains, a golden sun, and an endless Montana sky. Our team here at Big Day Celebrations helped them achieve their perfect 4-day wedding weekend filled with intentional moments of connection, highly personalized details, and beauty!
When we first started working on their wildflower wedding design, we created a mood board with sample color palettes, their favorite Pinterest photos, photos of the venue and more. This process of dreaming and brainstorming always helps ensure we’re on the same page and that we fully understand your vision. Then, we get to work! We source the vendors you’ll need, communicate your vision to them, and plan out all the logistics, from transportation to timing to guest flow. Finally, on the day of, we lead your vendor dream team to pull off the perfect day for you!
This recipe for wedding magic is how we brought Leah and Ben’s orange wildflower wedding to life! Walk with us through each day of their wedding story to find out all the details, and how we can help give you the wedding weekend of your dreams too!
Throughout their wildflower wedding weekend, Leah and Ben included their family in special, intentional ways. This started before the big day with their pre-wedding events! Two days before the wedding, Leah and Ben threw a welcome event in Glacier National Park followed by an afterparty at a nearby bar. This was a laidback way to welcome everyone to Montana and kickstart all the fun the weekend had to offer!
The day before their wildflower wedding, Leah and Ben hosted a lake day at Wayfarers State Park. Montana in the summer absolutely sparkles and the weather is just right, so this lake day was a fabulous idea to take advantage of the season! That evening, they had their rehearsal dinner along with a dessert and wine social at their Nana and Papa’s house.
We love how connected Leah and Ben’s group was even before the wedding day! They had multiple opportunities to spend quality time together, which is really what a wedding weekend is all about. Of course though, the highlight of the weekend was their wildflower wedding. Let’s get into it!
Leah and Ben’s orange wildflower wedding was at Snowline Acres, a historic venue in Kalispell with the perfect blend of rustic charm and natural beauty. Leah started the day with a series of first looks that helped get everyone in the wedding mood! She did a first look with her crew, her dad, and her grandpa, respectively. Each of these moments made everyone involved feel extra special, as they got to see Leah as a bride for the first time. Tears were definitely shed that morning!
Meanwhile, our team prepared their outdoor wedding site for the ceremony. The vendor team installed a wooden archway that Leah and Ben would stand under and affixed lush floral sprays in shades of pink, blue, and purple to it. The arch was the perfect complement to the sweeping vista of the Flathead Valley and Swan Mountains.
Our lead planner, Katie, put the finishing touches on the ceremony spot by scattering blush pink and white petals down the aisle. The stage was now set for Leah and Ben to get married!

Leah and Ben chose to see each other for the first time that day at their wildflower wedding ceremony. Let us tell you, the moment they locked eyes was like no other! Leah looked stunning in her strapless, white silk gown. Her train and veil simply floated behind her as she walked, and she had her auburn hair in loose waves framing her face. Her parents walked her down the aisle to the tune of “Love on the Brain” and Ben’s smile was just as big as Leah’s as they approached the altar.
Their Uncle Tom then kicked off the proceedings and led them through the ceremony. Before Leah and Ben knew it, he was proclaiming them husband and wife, and they were officially married!
They couldn’t help but throw their arms up in the air as an acoustic version of “What a Wonderful World” rang out. When they walked inside the reception building right after the ceremony, Katie congratulated them with a huge smile and hug! One of our favorite parts of our job is this moment right here. We’re often the first people you see after you get married. We wait at the top of the aisle with a smile, hug, and drink before giving you a private newlywed moment. It’s never lost on us what a privilege our role is, which makes this moment one of the most emotional of the day for us!

After signing their marriage license (they even had their dog, Tanner, autograph it with his paw print!), Leah and Ben found a quiet little spot under a willow tree for a private moment. This is when they exchanged private vows and had time together to soak everything in. Many times, couples will opt for a first look paired with a private vow exchange before the ceremony, but we love that Leah and Ben stayed true to themselves and did this after the nuptials on their own terms.
Back at the venue, the newlyweds’ loved ones were enjoying cocktail hour, complete with bacon-wrapped chicken skewers, elk short loin, and roasted garlic and burrata crostini appetizers. During cocktail hour, our team has the important job of ensuring the reception space is fully ready and picture-perfect for you and your guests. Sometimes, this involves repurposing items from the ceremony in the reception area.
For Leah and Ben’s wildflower wedding reception, we repurposed their ceremony aisle arrangements, placing them at the head table. We also repurposed the ceremony arch floral by setting them by the dessert table in the reception. Katie also always helps you bustle your dress, so you are dance-floor-ready!

Leah and Ben’s wildflower wedding was a summer wedding dream! When you first walked in the space, you were struck by the cavernous ceiling, natural wooden beams dotted with twinkle lights, and the floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out over the mountains. Then, you were amazed by the vibrant color that we infused into each and every reception design element!
There were the orange linens accented by wooden chargers and rust velvet napkins. The textured amber glassware, smoky green bud vases, and huckleberry jam favors popped on the tables. Plus, there was the cutie one-tier naked glass embellished with fresh flowers. This was accompanied by huckleberry-topped cinnamon rolls and Montana-themed custom cookies for dessert.
Most of all though, there were colorful flowers everywhere, from the vivid blooms in the bud vases to the lush arrangements running down the center of the head table. Every corner of this wildflower wedding reception burst with color, making this the happiest setting possible to celebrate Leah and Ben’s new marriage!

The celebration that evening began with Leah and Ben’s first dance to “Once in a Lifetime Love” by Alan Jackson and ended with a private last dance to “You” by Miley Cyrus. In between, there were heartfelt toasts, incredible food (we’re talking angus ribeye, chicken with lemon and capers, an heirloom Italian vegetable blend and more!), snaps at the photo booth, and a whole ton of fun on the dance floor! As the sun went down, the overhead twinkle lighting set the vibe for the dance party. We may have even busted out a few of our own dance moves too!
To wrap up the evening, everyone sent the newlyweds off into their happily ever after with bubbles! That is, before they met up again at the Garden Bar for the afterparty!
But the fun wasn’t over even then! The next day, Nana and Papa hosted a post-wedding brunch at their house. This allowed everyone one final chance to unwind and relax together before heading home.

Leah and Ben, oh my goodness, I had a blast with you guys! Your orange wildflower wedding was a stunner, and I had so much fun planning with you both! I’ll never forget the smiles you wore right after the ceremony. It made me so happy to see your joy and I wish you that same joy throughout your lives together!
