I had so much fun working with Alyse and David to coordinate their big day. They chose Mission Inn Resort’s beautiful Marina del Rey to say their “I do’s” and the day could not have been more lovely! From the time I got on property and checked-in on Alyse to the time she waived “good-bye” and got in their getaway car, she was all-smiles and so was David! These two love-birds chose to do a first look before the ceremony and y’all know by know I am a huge fan! From the Penthouse patio, all of the bridesmaids were able to watch as Alyse sneaked up behind David on a beautiful pathway with golf course views all around. Their reactions to seeing each other were priceless! After the first look, the couple knocked out photos with their wedding party before heading over to the marina for the ceremony.
Guests were greeted by an adorable sign that was displayed on Alyse’s grandfather’s art easel. It was such a sweet touch. Instead of a traditional guest book, guests signed postcards and left their well wishes to the soon-to-be new Mr. and Mrs. With ribbon wand in hand, they made their way to the back lawn for the ceremony. Lanterns with rose petals lined the aisle and at the alter was a beautiful wooden arch adorned with flowers. It was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony! Alyse and David chose to do a wine box ceremony and that is also one of my favorite things! Wine plus love notes equals pure romance! After a beautiful ceremony, led by their dear friend, Mike, guests were directed inside the front part of the Pavilion where they enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres. While guests mingles, the newlyweds had a portrait session and holy-moly did these pictures turn out great! I mean, the lighting could not have been more perfect! We transferred the lanterns from the ceremony inside to the Pavilion and they became the centerpieces for the tables. The bridesmaids bouquets also became part of the look. I’m also all about re-using!
After a delicious buffet dinner, everyone got on the dance floor and danced the night away! Even Grandpa Dale got out on the floor and busted some moves! Props to DJ Tabitha for totally killing it with the music and cheers for Alyse and David for having kick-butt music taste!
After the cake was cut, we used guests outside for a mock sparker exit. It was a sweet success and afterwards, more dancing happened! The day could not have been more perfect and the love Alyse and David had for each other was contagious. We are so happy for them and were honored to be a part of their big day!

rom the bride…”As soon as I met Katie, I knew Big Day Celebrations would be one of the best wedding planning decisions I would make. Katie was absolutely indispensable for me leading up to the wedding and helped us manage decisions involving everything from vendors to décor and answer questions I hadn’t even thought to ask. Because of our July wedding date and the high probability for rain, heat, and humidity, my husband really wanted drapes to divide our reception space and allow for an indoor cocktail hour. We had a hard time finding a solution within our budget and were just about to scrap the vision when Katie found a vendor that perfectly matched our needs. With Big Day Celebration’s direction, the ceremony and reception were set up flawlessly and were more beautiful than I imagined. I am so thankful for Katie especially because her management of our wedding allowed our families to relax and truly enjoy every moment of the weekend. She alleviated any chance for confusion or anxiety and we couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator!”
