It’s almost that time of year again! When the air shifts into a cool, brisk breeze; when the leaves transform into the most amazing reds, oranges, and golds; and when we all start to reach for our coziest sweaters to wrap up in. We have to admit: We love fall, especially when we get to plan fall wedding décor!
We adore designing a wedding around nature and the season in which the wedding takes place. And we did exactly that for Erin and Jason’s wedding at Green Valley Ranch in Coram, Montana! For their fall wedding décor, we played off of the natural oranges, peaches, and reds of the fall season. We incorporated neutral shades as well, like ivory and gold, to balance out their color palette. Overall, it was one of the coziest weddings we’ve ever done!
You definitely don’t want to miss this wedding story! Stay tuned for the ultimate fall wedding décor inspiration!
For their wedding, Erin and Jason decided to give their guests a full wedding weekend experience! This started the evening before the wedding with their rehearsal dinner followed by welcome drinks. Their rehearsal dinner took place at Abruzzo Kitchen in Whitefish. There was the most exquisite Italian food, good wine, and even better company. Erin and Jason spent the evening surrounded by their family and friends, who toasted them with sweet words throughout the occasion.
After the formal rehearsal dinner, Erin and Jason met more of their guests at Great Northern Bar & Grill for more casual welcome drinks. We love that they built in this additional quality time with their loved ones before the wedding! Wedding days are often hectic, and as fun as they are, there’s not always time to sit and chat with all of your guests. Erin and Jason realized this in their wedding planning, and we’re so glad they did. We enjoyed seeing their family and friends shower them with well wishes and celebration the night before the wedding.
What better way to start the weekend!
Erin and Jason’s wedding with fall wedding décor took place at Green Valley Ranch. This family-owned ranch could not have been a more perfect setting for their fall wedding! The property is surrounded by the national forest, the mountains that Montana is famous for, and a gorgeous, peaceful lake. Lucky for us, the leaves at that time had already changed into the most vibrant shades of orange and gold, setting the ideal stage for this fall wedding. The trees even acted as a natural (and free!) part of their fall wedding décor!
On the day-of, we set the ceremony site at the Caretaker’s Cabin Lawn with a semi-circle of orange, peach, and ivory floral. We weaved pampas grass throughout the semi-circle and added a black table with their unity candle in the center of the altar. For their ceremony fall wedding décor, we thought we would go with a semi-circle of flowers instead of a more traditional wedding arch. This is because the ceremony site already had a naturally gorgeous backdrop. We didn’t want to take away from the mountains or forest trees, and we actually think the ceremony floral served to enhance their natural beauty!
We also set up a wine barrel table with welcome drinks at the ceremony site. Keeping with their cozy fall vibe, we set out hot coffee for guests to enjoy before the ceremony began. We also set up a separate table with soft, neutral throw blankets in case anyone got chilly. Erin and Jason really wanted to take care of their guests and these details were a great way to show their love while keeping with their fall wedding décor.
While the vendor team and I were busy setting up their fall wedding décor, Erin and Jason snuck away to Glacier National Park for photos before the ceremony began. Green Valley Ranch is situated just about 5 minutes from the park’s entrance, which meant they had plenty of time to explore the park and take epic pictures before all the festivities started.
When it was time for the ceremony to begin, the first notes of “Here Comes the Sun” pierced the air. Erin and Jason’s family and wedding party proceeded down the aisle to get things started and even their dog, CC, had a chance to shine by trotting down the aisle! CC served as Erin’s “flower dog” by paving the way for her to make her grand entrance to the ceremony. When it was her turn, “To Make You Feel My Love” rang out. Erin then floated down the aisle, looking as angelic as could be, on her father, Kevin’s arm.
She looked absolutely radiant in her white, flowy gown with little flower details all over the bodice. With her hair in waves and her veil trailing behind her, she was a vision!
The ceremony itself was sweet and romantic. They included different family members throughout the ceremony and lit their unity candle together before reading each other their personalized vows. Tears were definitely shed during this part of the ceremony!
And just like that, they were married! With hints of tears still in their eyes, they shared a kiss and then threw their arms in the air in celebration. They were husband and wife!
Erin and Jason’s cocktail hour with fall wedding décor took place at the Pole Barn, where guests got to still soak in the natural beauty of the area. They munched on charcuterie and sipped on the couple’s signature drinks while the newlyweds captured photos with their family and wedding party (and CC!). We also set out personalized cocktail napkins and koozies as take-home favors.
But our favorite part of Erin and Jason’s fall wedding décor scheme was their reception tent! We set a clear sided tent on the ranch’s Tennis Court Lawn and draped white fabric all along the ceiling. The draping also trailed down the sides, giving the tent a soft and dreamy look while still allowing guests to enjoy views of the ranch. With the mountains and lake reflected in the adjacent lake, it looked like something out a cozy fall movie!
Inside the tent, we set a variety of rectangular and round guest tables. The long tables had a white gauze runner down the center while the round tables were covered in sage green linens. We decorated all the tables with peach, coral, and orange floral centerpieces, peach taper candles, and gold mercury votives. Each place setting had a clear glass charger with gold rim, an ivory napkin tied in a soft knot, and amber glassware.
But that’s not all! Erin and Jason not only had a wedding cake as part of their fall wedding décor. They also had a full dessert table! Their cake was a white, 4-tier cake with buttercream smeared on the outside to look like mountains. We adorned the cake with orange and mauve florals to keep with their fall wedding décor. The mini desserts included yummy treats like profiteroles, blondies, mini pies, cookies, and tarts. Talk about gorgeous AND delicious!
The party started when the newlyweds entered the reception and danced their first dance to the tune of “Pushing Up Daisies” by Brothers Osborne. After the parent dances and blessing, dinner was served. By this time, we had lit all the candles on the tables and flicked on the twinkle lights that were strewn throughout the tent. The soft lighting further contributed to the newlyweds’ fall wedding décor. The entire look was romantic and almost surreal with how beautiful it all was!
After toasts were given and the cake was cut, the band really kicked it into high gear and opened the dance floor! The newlyweds spent the rest of the night busting out their best dance moves with all their friends and family. It was truly a night to remember!
But the party didn’t end when the wedding ended! The day after their nuptials, Erin and Jason planned a game day celebration for everyone! They and their families are big Michigan fans, so this fun couple had a Kahuna Hot Dogs food truck and bar available for everyone while they watched the big game together. They had rented Green Valley Ranch for the entire weekend, so they were able to hold game day on the Tennis Court Lawn, the same spot where they danced the night away the previous evening.
This was a wonderful way for Erin and Jason to spend more time with their loved ones in a relaxed setting. They truly soaked up every moment with their people throughout their entire wedding weekend, and we were so happy to see them so happy during every minute!
Erin and Jason, your wedding weekend was SO much fun! I had a blast planning your fall wedding décor with you, meeting your families, and celebrating your love throughout the weekend. Thank you for including me. This is a wedding I’ll never forget! Congratulations!
