Let’s start with a little backstory behind Jen and Rob’s Luxmore Estate wedding. I’ve know Jen since middle school, so when she asked me to help plan her big day, of course I said “yes!” It was so much fun working with her and her fiancé, Rob. Rob is a man of many trades – pilot, lawyer, house-flipper, funny guy. These two love to travel all around the world, so incorporating little travel details throughout the wedding only seemed right!
The first thing we did was start our venue search. We came across a really cool venue which was an old airplane hangar. With Rob being a pilot, the venue was a perfect fit. So we booked it and kept on planning.
As we all know, planning a wedding does have its ups and downs. While we try our best to make it as fun and as stress free as possible, sometimes things cannot be avoided. Less than five months from the big day, we got word that their venue was shutting down. A tough decision had to be made because we didn’t know when the venue would be back up and running.
Luckily while at a wedding show just a few months before the big day, Jen and Rob stumbled upon the Luxmore Estate wedding booth and they just so happened to have their wedding date available! It was like it was meant to be. We quickly booked this gorgeous estate and kept on planning.
On the big day, things couldn’t have been more perfect! The day was gorgeous. Everything ran on time. The ceremony was perfect and it was officiated by their friend, which is always so sweet to me! Jen had barrels at the alter that were topped with gorgeous floral arrangements. We rented some adorable vintage luggage from RW Events and they were the perfect accent on their guest book table!
The reception was absolutely stunning! I mean, oh my goodness… Guests found their seats via luggage tag escort cards. The tables were named after places Jen and Rob had traveled over the years. They really fit the vibe of the Luxmore Grande Ballroom and really made the room pop. We lined the long family-style tables with garland, so lush and so gorgeous. A beautiful faux wedding cake from Etsy was the centerpiece of the room and a mouth-watering dessert display with a variety of cakes from Jen and Rob’s favorite bakery in Jacksonville waited patiently for guests to enjoy after dinner. I loved the idea of a faux wedding cake and then a dessert display with cakes and cookies for guests. Such a great idea!
It was such a great day! I had so much fun planning with these two and honestly, I wish we could do it all over again! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Singles!
“Katie is simply the best and an amazing coordinator to work with. From listening to the crazy ideas my now husband and I had, arranging vendor meetings, to assisting us replan our wedding in 3 months after our venue was shut down unexpectedly she does it all. The best part about hiring Big Day Celebrations was being stress free on my wedding day! If anything went wrong I had no clue, and still have no clue! I would definitely recommend Big Day Celebrations to any future bride, Katie is definitely worth it.”
“Katie did a magnificent job. It wasn’t until after the wedding I realized we did not have the typical day of drama that accompanies a big event. Katie just made it happen.”
