Sam and Dustin’s Apgar Amphitheater wedding in Glacier National Park was nothing short of perfect.
Apgar Amphitheater is the perfect size for groups of 100 – 200. Depending on the time of year, the park will either allow you to have 100 guests with three vehicles parked on-site or 200 guests with 15 vehicles parked on site.
Sam and Dustin had approximately 50 guests and since their wedding was held in July (peak season) they chose to have a bus transport their guests to and from Glacier. We highly recommend this for all weddings taking place within the park where parking can be limited. The park will charge a larger entrance fee for the bus, so just make sure to either pre-pay that with the transportation company or give a designated guest an envelope with cash to cover the fee upon arriving to the gate.
Remember to allow some buffer time in your schedule before and after the wedding for travel time. Large busses can take longer to get from point A to point B compared to a standard vehicle!
There are quite a few options for renting a bus and here are a few of our favorites:
Sound amplification above 60 decibels is not allowed in the amphitheater. Sam and Dustin chose to have an acoustic guitarist perform for the ceremony and it was beautiful. The guitarist just could not be amplified. You cannot plug into park power sources either.
They did decorate the pergola/arch structure, but did it in a way that the structure was not harmed. You cannot tack, staple or tape anything onto the structure. Remember to clean the site before you leave and remove any trash or decorations.
