Just like classic pearls or a black and white color palette, a blush wedding will never go out of style! Blush pink and gold is an elegant and sophisticated color combination, so it’s no wonder that it has become a go-to palette for so many couples. Delicate and romantic, a blush wedding is also incredibly versatile! This shade can easily pair with other bolder colors if you wish, like fuchsia or tangerine, or other soft hues like peach or sage.
When it came to planning the color palette for their micro wedding, Jessica and Rudy chose to have a blush wedding with accents of ivory, navy blue, and gold. They wanted their big day design to be timeless. Together with our owner and lead planner, Katie, they crafted the blush wedding of their dreams at Haymoon Resort!
As we retell their blush wedding story, we hope that you’ll be inspired by their wedding design and overall timeline as you plan your own nuptials. This couple incorporated many classic wedding elements and traditions but put their own personal twist on them to make the day as unique as they are!
Jessica and Rudy tied the knot on a beautiful summer day here in Montana. Haymoon Resort was the perfect wedding venue for them because of its indoor/outdoor appeal. They were able to have an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour followed by an indoor wedding reception, giving them and their guests the best of both worlds.
On the day of their wedding celebration, Katie and the vendor team arrived to the resort for set-up. Together, they brought the wedding vision to life! They decorated the ceremony site with a double wooden triangular arch that resembled the outline of mountains. Two elegant ivory and blush wedding floral sprays adorned each arch, adding a soft pop of color to the altar. We also affixed small floral sprays to each of the aisle chairs to help pave a beautiful path for Jessica and Rudy’s processional.
Inside this blush wedding reception space, we set a mix of round and long tables covered in rich navy blue linens. We set gold Chiavari chairs around the tables, which mirrored the gold chargers and flatware on the tabletops.
Blush and ivory floral arrangements served as the centerpieces of the tables along with a mixture of gold taper, pillar and votive candles.
The focal point of this blush wedding reception though was Jessica and Rudy’s sweetheart table! We set a half moon table with ivory linen in front of an ivory pipe and drape backdrop for the newlyweds. A blush and ivory floral centerpiece in a gold vase accented the table and when the sun went down, soft candlelight set their table aglow.
When you work with Katie, you have a professional wedding designer in your corner! She’ll guide you in choosing your wedding colors, planning your reception layout, and cultivating each and every detail to keep your overall design cohesive. She creates diagrams and 3D renderings to help you envision your plans and ensure that the picture you have of your dream wedding comes to fruition!
On this lovely, sunny afternoon at Haymoon Resort, Jessica and Rudy’s friends and family gathered to witness their marriage ceremony. The processional began to the tune of “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain as Jessica and Rudy’s moms walked down the aisle. We then transitioned into the song “Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel as Rudy and the wedding party entered the ceremony space.
That day, Rudy donned a tan suit while the bridesmaids and groomsmen rocked navy blue attire. But none compared to Jessica’s bridal look! She stunned everyone that day in a flowing white gown with lace details on the bodice and along the hem. Her veil floated in the breeze as she walked and her ivory and blush wedding bouquet only enhanced her ethereal aesthetic. She was radiant! It’s no wonder that Rudy shed a tear or two upon seeing her as a bride for the first time!
Their ceremony was joyful and romantic. They did a unity sand ceremony that represented their new marriage. It also doubled as a sentimental keepsake from their best day!
About 30 minutes later, Jessica and Rudy sealed the deal with their first married kiss as they became husband and wife! They walked back up the aisle to the jubilant notes of “Signed Sealed Delivered” by Stevie Wonder and marveled in the fact that they did it!
Then, we invited guests to kick off the cocktail hour with passed appetizers of caprese skewers, bison meatballs, and blackened shrimp tostada. Jessica and Rudy’s signature drinks were an Old Fashioned and Cosmo, which were refreshing and delicious on this summer day.
As they took post-ceremony photos with their family, Katie repurposed the blush wedding ceremony floral inside the reception space. Reusing the ceremony floral sprays and chair arrangements like this is a great way to make the most of your wedding budget! We also love repurposing the bridesmaids’ bouquets to set throughout the reception, either as enhancements to the tablescapes or strategically placing them on the bar top, décor or food tables, or the sweetheart table!
Traditionally, newlyweds take photos for the duration of cocktail hour, but Jessica and Rudy wanted to join their guests and take part in the fun! So Katie bustled Jessica’s dress, got them some appetizers and drinks, and they got to start celebrating with all their loved ones.
When the hour was up, we opened the reception space to everyone and they oohed and aahed at the blush wedding design. But the party truly started when the grand entrances did! “Sugar” by Maroon 5 blared over the speakers as the wedding party marched in followed by the newlyweds themselves.
From there, they went straight into their cake cutting. They had a semi-naked wedding cake with white, cream, and blush wedding florals. Natural greenery, touches of blue, and a custom gold topper also accented the cake.
Afterwards, the new Mr. and Mrs. shared their first dance to “Yours” by Russell Dickerson while Katie cut the cake to serve to the guests. The last reception formality before dinner was the toasts, which were heartfelt and enjoyed by all. Logistically, having the traditional reception formalities all in a row like this is great because it means that once the dance floor opens, the fun doesn’t have to stop!
Following a delicious dinner of lemon caper chicken, beef medallions, and citrus and chili asparagus, guests indulged in the wedding cake! It was a champagne flavored caked with huckleberry filling and cream cheese buttercream. Yum!
The parent dances took place following dinner and created the perfect segue into the opening of the dance floor! From that point on, Jessica, Rudy, and their closest people had a blast dancing, singing, and laughing together. They had so much fun that they had to refuel with yummy late night snacks consisting of chicken and steak quesadillas!
Everyone had a great time that night celebrating the happy couple! Between dances, they snapped Polaroid photos for the guest book, munched on cake and quesadillas, and were able to enjoy the summer breeze outside.
As this blush wedding concluded, Katie lined everyone up for the grand sparkler exit outdoors while Jessica and Rudy shared a private last dance. This is a wonderful way to have a moment alone together, soaking in the last minutes of your big day celebration.
Overall, this blush wedding day was classically elegant and fun in all the best ways! Every festivity was meaningfully planned to give Jessica and Rudy a romantic, beautiful, and exciting wedding day of their dreams!
Jessica and Rudy, I had so much fun working with you for your blush wedding! You were so great throughout the process and I loved witnessing your love for each other! I wish you all the happiness and love in the world! Hugs!
